The dædalus block evolved 2016 in Düsseldorf and was completed 2020 in New York City. Hosting a large variety of elements and mediums, the block is centered around crucial questions regarding the social-, economical- and geopolitical body. The towers are conceived as modular structures, with each part interchangeable and adjustable according to the content. Reminiscent of archival storage systems the purpose is to create an architecture which collects, displays or even hides information, facilitating a diversity of scenarios. The towers can be considered as functional appliances and exist both as sculptures and architectural models. The flexibility of these unstable monuments ensures mobility and openness towards the transformative and unknown outer prerequisites (X). The tower itself as a mythologically charged object of power and potency shifts the concept into a vast field of references from economical to philosophical and religious blueprints of perception and belief. The structure serves as a cartesian crutch, supporting and making critical the generated output based on mostly subconscious (action-)research.
